Welcome to Fiji, a South Seas Paradise...
Fiji consists of over 300 islands scattered across 42,000 square miles of ocean. Known as “the soft coral capital of the world,” Fiji’s variety of soft coral is astounding. Fed by the rich nutrients streaming up from the Tonga Trench and influenced by several major rivers, the reef eco-system in the Fiji Islands is noted for its complex nature. You'll see hard and soft coral, sea fans, dense schools of fairy basslets, and schools of barracuda. The diving is varied as well: drift dives, night dives, an action-packed shark encounter, wreck dives and more.
We will be staying on Fiji's main island at Viti Levu's most Northern point - 2 1/4 hours drive from Nadi Airport, Wananavu Beach Resort accommodation in Fiji offers you the feel of an island paradise with the convenience of the mainland.
Wananavu Beach Resort has 31 deluxe bures situated on the palm-fringed ocean or amongst the lush tropical gardens. The spectacular reef and sunset scenes from the bures and restaurant bar complex are unparalleled.
There's always something for everyone; diving, cultural activities, picnics to secluded beaches, village tours, snorkeling, fishing, kayaking or just lying by the pool with a book and a cocktail.
There are no phones, radios or TVs in the bures, giving you the chance to experience a peaceful slice of paradise. Each bure and villa offers air-conditioning and ceiling fans or can be naturally cooled by the sea breezes.
We have chosen October because the end of their dry winter season offers good visibility and minimal rainfall. Since the resort is on the North end of the Big Island, the reefs are bathed by cooler currents that have helped protect them from coral bleaching. We recommend a 3mm wetsuit to be comfortable in the 78-82 water temperature range..
