Dorsey was first certified in 1987 in New Jersey, where he is originally from. Dorsey traveled a lot to sites in Puerto Rico and the Bahamas to get away from the cold waters of the north and to see something other than wrecks. Dorsey is a certified PADI Instructor and teaches several DAN classes as well.Specialities Dorsey teaches include Peak Performance Buoyancy, Project Aware, AWARE Coral Reef Conservation, Enriched Air Diver, Deep, Drift, Wreck, Underwater Photographer, AED for Divers, and Marine Life Injuries. Dorsey is also an Emergency First Response Instructor.

Dorsey has dived most of the Caribbean and and feels quite at home in the "Graveyard of the Atlantic" here in North Carolina. When not diving Dorsey, who is a Christian Counselor, enjoys quality time with his wife Jeanette, also a Christian Counselor and is a Master SCUBA Diver and currently working on her Divemaster.
